In Krasnoyarsk, a seminar was traditionally held for active veteran organizations of the city, at which the results of 2025 were summed up.
Veterans are active participants in significant events for Krasnoyarsk. This year they took part in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. Already now they are preparing to become volunteers in preparation for the upcoming anniversary of the city.
“„Silver” volunteers, free of charge, give their knowledge, experience and compassion to people in need from the heart. Helping our neighbors is the main basis of our lives. The 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk is coming, we will also be very pleased to participate in the organization at various sites in the city,” noted seminar participant, chairman of the volunteer cell Nina Baranova.
The past year has become special for the Krasnoyarsk Veterans Council. The organization celebrated its 40th anniversary.
“Today there are more than 140 thousand people in the ranks of our organization. There are a lot of plans, we will implement them,” told Chairman of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of Veterans Sergei Bressky.
Please note that the city administration pays special attention to representatives of the older generation. Today's elderly residents make up near 50% recipients of all social support measures. The projects “Colors of Mature Age” and “Active Longevity” have been created and are successfully operating; with the support of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the project “Siberian Longevity” is being implemented. The seminar featured locations dedicated to these programs. Consultants answered questions from veterans and talked about project opportunities.
“Among the representatives of the older generation there are those who make a special contribution to the development of Krasnoyarsk. Gratitude for such activities is the appearance of a new title “Honorary Veteran of the City.” For the first time, 8 veterans received this status, along with the title – a badge and a one-time bonus. Starting next year, it will become an annual event for this category of residents. Also in This year, Krasnoyarsk was one of the first in the country to fulfill the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin – 34 veterans of the Great Patriotic War became Honorary Citizens of Krasnoyarsk. We try to pay special attention to veterans so that they understand how important they are to the city“, stated first deputy head of the city Alexey Shuvalov.
The most active Krasnoyarsk residents of the older generation were awarded diplomas and letters of gratitude for their participation in the public life of the city, personal contribution to the development of the veteran movement and active citizenship.
