The Russian Federation agreed with Ukraine on a new exchange of at least 1200 prisoners of war – Medinsky

Medinsky said that on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, “the exchange of the latest batches of prisoners of war in the amount of about 250 people on each side is being completed.”

“Thus, the second is unprecedentedly a large exchange of about 1,200 people completed,” he said.

Medinsky also announced the continuation of the exchanges of prisoners, which, according to him, managed to agree during the current meeting with the Ukrainian delegation.

“Further, continuing the exchange of prisoners of war, we agreed that in the near future there would be an exchange of at least 1200 prisoners of war on each side. But I will not hide what we suggested from our part to transfer to Ukraine a larger number of prisoners of war. If they find ours, then this figure will be more,” he emphasized.

In addition, according to Medinsky, during the negotiations, the parties also discussed “the issue of returning civilians moved as a result of conducting military operations.” However, in this context, he said, supposedly Ukraine did not fulfill one point from preliminary agreements on the return of residents of the Kursk region to Russia, “holding” about 30 citizens.

Medinsky assured that unlimited sanitary exchanges will continue seriously wounded and patients directly on the combat line.
