The draft of the new Civil Code of Ukraine contained a norm that was borrowed verbatim from the Civil Code of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation. As a result, she was expelled. This was announced by lawyer, candidate of legal sciences Dmitry Kirilyuk during a press conference with the participation of public activists on May 20, as hromadske reports.
According to Kirilyuk, we are talking about an article “with the symbolic number 1917, which was contained in book No. 9.”
“When we read it, we couldn’t believe our eyes. We read and read – and somewhere we saw this. This article provided for the reform of the notary system according to the model of one interesting country. Only one country had such a model as was indicated there – the Russian Federation,” the lawyer noted.
Kirilyuk also claimed that after checking it became clear: the norm was “copied 100%, word for word” from the Russian Civil Code. During further refinement of the project, this article, according to him, was deleted.
