“During the conversation, Prime Minister Meloni, first of all, reiterated Italy's solidarity in connection with the new series of massive Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilian targets and notified President Zelensky about urgent supplies in support of energy infrastructure and the population. Power generators donated by Italian companies will be sent to Ukraine in the coming weeks,” the government statement said.

It goes on to say that Meloni reiterated her support for the ongoing negotiation process and the US commitment to finding a path to a just and lasting peace.

Moreover, it was emphasized: “This process is supported by Ukraine's repeated readiness to sit at the negotiating table in good faith. Therefore, the expectation that similar openness will appear on the Russian side has been reiterated.”

On Monday in London, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will discuss with President Zelensky American efforts to end Russia's war with Ukraine.
