The elections in Bucharest are “a victory for Ilie Bolojan and a defeat for Nicușor Dan”, believes political scientist Cristian Pîrvulescu.
The PNL mayor from Sector 6, Ciprian Ciucu, is declared the winner of the elections by the Curs-Avangarde exit poll. The first, partial results, published by the Permanent Electoral Authority, also show Ciucu as the winner of the elections for the Capital City Hall.

“(…) In any case, it means an important victory for the PNL, which has not held this position for a very long time. It is an important victory for Ilie Bolojan, for the prime minister and the president of the party, who bet on Ciprian Ciucu and supported him. It is probably an oxygen balloon for the government, whose stability was called into question. It is a defeat for President Dan, even if his comments today made it clear that he is not so important. It is! Because these elections had a national significance,” Pîrvulescu told stirilileprotv.
He believes that “relationships within the coalition will have to be reconstituted, in Bucharest, because relations between PNL and USR have become tense, even if they were never very good”:
“Let's not forget that the PNL and the PSD were on the lists together. And now, at the government level, it is certain that the PNL comes out stronger and the prime minister comes out stronger.”
