The list of professions prohibited for women in Russia is planned to be reduced in 2027. This follows from the road map approved by the Russian government for the implementation of the national business model, which TASS reviewed.
“Reducing the number of professions that are inaccessible to women. Deadline: December 2027,” the document says.
Changes should affect the transport and manufacturing industries. Amendments will be made to the order of the Russian Ministry of Labor on the list of industries, jobs and positions with harmful or dangerous working conditions, in which the use of female labor is limited.
As stated in the plan, departments must prepare a list of works that are recommended to be excluded from the list by March 2027 with the participation of employers’ associations and trade unions. An audit of working conditions at the relevant workplaces will also be carried out, including in terms of risks for workers. In addition, the Ministry of Health, Rospotrebnadzor and FMBA will have to conduct “epidemiological scientific research” in these professions, including studying the influence of harmful production factors, taking into account the anatomical and psychophysiological characteristics of the female body.
The current list of industries, jobs and positions with harmful and dangerous conditions, where the work of women is limited, has been in effect since January 1, 2021 and includes 100 positions. The previous list, adopted more than 20 years ago, contained more than 450 professions and types of work performed that were officially inaccessible to women.
