The SENS candidate for the position of general mayor of the Capital, Ana Ciceală, stated that the issues on the public agenda highlighted in her campaign “resonated with the youngest voters”, informs Agerpres.
“For us, one of the stakes of these elections was to put on the table topics that Bucharest, as well as other cities in Romania, have been avoiding for many years: the cost of living, which crushes whole families; the housing crisis, which every young person and every parent feels; the consolidation of buildings with seismic risk – a bomb that is falling on our heads, here in Bucharest; a green Bucharest that we want to build; a Bucharest of hope, of trust and a positive vote, not a vote for the lesser evil,” she said, after the publication of the exit polls.
Thus, argued Ana Ciceală, the campaign was an opportunity to bring “a new project to a political world that remained stuck in the ideas of another century”.
“Today, these issues are finally on the agenda of the city and will be on the agenda of other cities in Romania. This is thanks to you, those who believed that politics should not remain captive to the issues of the past (…). The polls noticed, even if they were used to manipulate and even if they affected us through the so-called useful vote, maybe, we will see after the votes are counted, and today's result, namely the issues that we managed to put on the public agenda resonated with the most young voters of our city”, said the SENS candidate.
