The water supply will be resumed in Prahova County from 11:00 p.m., informs the Prahova Prefecture and the County Council. According to DSP representatives, there were measures imposed on Hidro Prahova for water supply.
The director of the local water supplier, ESZ Prahova, Bogdan Chițescu, confirmed for HotNews that he was informed that the water supply will be resumed from 23:00, especially for the Câmpina Municipality. “We are ready,” he said.
In a joint press conference, the prefect of Prahova county, Daniel Nicodim, said that “the conditions have been established under which, starting at 11:00 p.m., the localities affected by the water crisis will be re-supplied by each individual operator. These are conditions that the specialists will explain in terms of how this water will be consumed.”
The water supply will start at 11:00 p.m., and “from tomorrow morning, it will probably reach the first citizens”, informed the president of the County Council, Virgiliu Nanu.
In this regard, a Ro-Alert message was also issued: “Today 05.12 at 23:00 the partial water supply is resumed only for the hygiene of the sanitary groups in the affected localities. Temporarily, it may present impurities! The use of water for drinking, personal hygiene, washing food, dishes and food preparation is prohibited.”

“There will be no drinking water”
Cătălin Albu, representative of DSP Prahova, stated that measures have been established for Hidro Prahova. “They need to first balance the system by fully charging, then, through a communication to us, we'll go and collect samples to see what the potability parameters are.”
At this moment, the samples are “very good”, but further analyzes are needed when the system will be rebalanced, Albu also stated. “The water that is leaving is drinkable, but there is no telling what will be on the route and we are taking a margin of error, because balancing the system takes time.”
“We have released the water. There will be no water for drinking, for washing hands. Until we officially communicate the fact that the water meets all the conditions, I ask the citizens that the water should not be drunk and to respect the conditions. We made this effort to gain time, until the analyzes come out correctly, 100%”, said the president of CJ Prahova, Virgiliu Nanu.
Until the results of the DSP analyzes are released, the water will only be used for “the evacuation of fecaloid-household wastewater from the sanitary groups”, according to the County Committee for Emergency Situations.
In addition, people affected by the lack of water will continue to receive bottled water from the state reserve, and ISU Prahova will send messages through the Ro-Alert system every 3 hours regarding water quality, between 06:00 and 22:00.
Over 100,000 people without water for a week
More than 100,000 people in Prahova county have not received water in the centralized system since Friday, October 28, after the water in the Paltinu dam rose by approximately 12 meters, and could not be properly treated to become drinkable.
It is about the localities of Câmpina, Breaza, Băicoi, Adunaţi, Poiana Câmpina, Şotrile, Băneşti, Brebu, Telega, Vărbilău, Aluniş and partially Floreşti commune in Prahova county.
People receive drinking and household water from tankers brought by the fire brigade and authorities, and on Sunday the decision was made that they will receive 200,000 liters of water from the state reserve. The Prahova County Council, the main shareholder of the water supplier, explained that the problem was at the Paltinu dam, where the installations entered a technical blockage due to turbidity.
