The head of ANM, Elena Mateescu, told Digi 24 on Sunday that the temperatures recorded a day ago, when several weather warnings were issued, reached and exceeded 40 degrees to dozens of monitoring stations.
“Yesterday, July 26, the hottest day this summer until now, confirmed by the records of maximum daily temperatures at 114 weather stations. At Calafat 43.4 degrees. At 33 weather stations the maximum temperatures have reached and even exceeded 40 degrees. At the three stations in the Capital I registered a day of 41.5 to 41.5 Bucharest-Filaret.
According to her, on Monday, the southeast part of the country will remain under a wave of intense and persistent heat, while in the rest of the territory the temperatures can drop to 25-26 degrees in the west and northwest of the country.
Elena Mateescu also showed that the next few days will be characterized by atmospheric instability, and by the end of the month there will be periods with torrential rains, wind intensifications and important amounts of precipitation.
The general director of ANM says that the weather will approach the normal thermal date of the calendar, respectively at most 21 – 34 degrees.
