“We must continue to put pressure on Russia to force it to make peace. (…) Ukraine can count on our continued support. This is the meaning of the efforts we have undertaken as part of the coalition of the willing. We will continue them together with the Americans to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, without which there will be no lasting peace. Because what is happening in Ukraine also affects the security of all of Europe,” Macron wrote on the X platform.

In the post, the French president emphasized that Russia was not striving for peace but was escalating the conflict and condemned the massive Russian attack on most of Ukraine's regions on the night from Friday to Saturday, the main target of which was energy and railway infrastructure. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia attacked Ukraine with 704 air assets, Ukrainian air defenses shot down 585 drones and 30 missiles of various types.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced his planned trip to London earlier on Saturday.

American-Ukrainian talks on a plan to end the war are to continue on Saturday in Florida. The American side is represented by special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and the Ukrainian side is represented by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces General Andriy Hnatov.
