The Ministry of Finance warned against cybercriminals who try to extort data or funds using fake e-mails.

According to the press release, fraudsters send fake e-mails demanding payment for allegedly parking in a restricted zone. In this way, they try to persuade you to pay a fictitious fee. After clicking on the link, the user is redirected to a website that may require confidential data. In this way, fraudsters try to obtain information such as personal data, bank account numbers, e-mail addresses and passwords, the ministry emphasized.

The Ministry advises to pay attention to the address of the e-mail sender. “If it does not end with 'gov.pl' and the message concerns official matters, increase your vigilance,” it was emphasized. (PAP)
