Firefighters intervened on Wednesday evening to extinguish a fire that occurred in the Promenada shopping center, located in Sector 2, announced the Bucharest-Ilfov Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISUB-IF).
The fire started at an electrical panel, and in the meantime it was extinguished by the firemen.
ISUB-IF specified that 8 water and foam extinguishing vehicles, an intervention and rescue vehicle from height, an extrication vehicle, the Special Rescue Detachment and an SMURD crew were alerted to manage the emergency situation.
“At the moment there are no more smoke releases, work is being done to ventilate the spaces. Approximately 1,100 people were evacuated and self-evacuated”, concluded ISUB-IF.
