He pointed out that the current version of the Borsuk is the “richest, most prestigious”, but other versions are also needed, such as command and support vehicles for chemical troops. As he added, work on modifications to the car is ongoing.
– We are working on various modifications in all these programs, both floating ones and those that will not need these floating abilities. But Badger is impressive. The badger is a guarantor of our safety – emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
Paweł Bejda, the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, who was present at the ceremony, assured that Borsuk is an excellent infantry leader. – Our soldiers are waiting for this child who was born here, in Huta Stalowa Wola. This infantry combat vehicle, first of all, fills the gaps left by old, obsolete post-Soviet equipment, but at the same time it gives a sense of security to soldiers who serve in the 15th Giżycko Mechanized Brigade, which is subordinated to the 16th Mechanized Division, Bejda noted.
The head of the Armament Agency, Major General Artur Kuptel, said that the soldiers, who had already tested four prototypes of the Badgers, “checked how it drives, how it shoots, how it can be operated on a modern battlefield” and admitted that the vehicle had gained their recognition. – I will say more: most soldiers are already waiting for this wonderful equipment in much larger quantities for our Polish soldiers – added General Kuptel.
The Borsuk is a modern tracked vehicle designed to transport and protect the crew and infantry soldiers against fire from small arms, anti-tank grenade launchers and IEDs. The Badger's armament consists of a 30 mm Mk 44S Bushmaster cannon, a dual Spike ATGM launcher and a 7.62 mm UKM-2000C coupled universal machine gun.
