The Kremlin denies a possible New Year's truce on the Ukrainian front. Peskov: “So far it has not been discussed”

The Kremlin has so far not discussed the possibility of a temporary truce on the Ukrainian front during the New Year holidays, spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Asked by journalists if Russia will institute “a truce” on holidays, Peskov stated that this idea has not been discussed and that a “completely different process”.
According to the Russian official, it is probably about negotiations between the parties and about the discussions on the so-called “peace plan”write focus.
Over time, Moscow has also announced temporary truces dedicated to symbolic dates. In May, on Victory Day, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a three-day truce, which was not respected on the ground.
On December 2, former US President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, held talks in Moscow with Vladimir Putin.
The Kremlin announced that it had received four additional documents in addition to the original US peace plan. Also on the same day, NBC News published three terms of the peace plan that Russia would not have agreed to.
