The Real Zaragoza club announced the sudden death of Jorge Casado Roche, a young player aged only 15, who played for the youth team of the Aragom formation.
According to the information provided by the local press, Jorge Casado was found without vital signs at his home on Monday morning. The exact circumstances of the death have not been made public, but initial investigations indicate that the death may have been of natural causes.
“Jorge, a member of the club since childhood, arrived at our academy in the U12 category and was in his sixth season in Real Zaragoza's shirt. He was a boy highly appreciated by his colleagues and leaves a huge void in the locker room of the junior team and in the club's family”, the official statement issued by the Spanish group states.
Day of mourning at Real Zaragoza
Real Zaragoza declared Tuesday an official day of mourning and canceled all scheduled activities. Only the first team entered the training ground, to pay tribute to the deceased young man through a moment of silence.
“Devastated by his loss, we join the immense pain of Jorge's family and loved ones. The club sends all our love and strength in these difficult times. Rest in peace, Jorge,” Real Zaragoza said.

The young footballer was one of the hopes of the academy
Jorge Casado Roche has been registered at Real Zaragoza since his youth days, being considered a talented and disciplined player. In the current season, he was part of the Cadet A (U16) team and was one of the hopes of the Aragonese academy.
The tragedy produced a deep shock not only within the club, but also throughout Spain, with several teams sending messages of condolence to the young player's family.
