The Hungarian carrier, which last operated from Modlin in December 2012, returns with a wide offer. Connections start this month to Athens, Barcelona, Bergamo, Bergen, Brindisi, Chisinau, Malta, Palermo, Paphos and Sofia. From March 31, 2026, a route to Alghero in Sardinia will also be available. Wizz Air does not intend to stop there and is already planning further investments.
Wizz Air's development plans in Modlin
Wizz Air is considering further increasing its presence at the Modlin airport. Jacek Kowalski, president of the airport, said in an interview with Fly4free.pl that the carrier has initially declared its willingness to base a third aircraft in next year's summer season, which would allow it to launch further routes. Wizz Aira representatives have not yet officially confirmed these plans, but the numbers indicate ambitious goals.

Andras Szabo, network officer of Wizz Aira, announced that next year, the carrier intends to offer over a million seats for passengers from Modlin, which, according to it, will allow it to approach the number of one million people served.
Competition with Ryanair
Wizz Air is entering a market where Ryanair has a strong position. Of the eleven new routes, as many as eight correspond to the offer of the Irish carrier. Wizz Aira representatives emphasize that they are not afraid of competition and believe that passengers will benefit from competition because it will translate into lower ticket prices. Szabo noted that the demand for new connections is so great that there will be room for more than one airline on the routes.
