Since October 1, 2025, 313 people have applied to medical institutions in the Krasnoyarsk Territory with frostbite and hypothermia, according to the regional territorial center for disaster medicine.
Over the past week, the number of victims has increased by 64 people. 167 patients received outpatient care, which is 40 more than the week before. 136 people were hospitalized (+24 per week), 10 patients died in hospitals.
Doctors remind that at the first signs of frostbite or hypothermia, it is necessary to take action as quickly as possible:
- immediately go into a warm room;
- remove frozen clothes and shoes;
- do not rub the affected areas with snow or cloth – this can injure the skin;
- warm up gradually: drink warm (not hot) sweet tea, take a warm bath or apply a dry bandage at body temperature;
- If you experience loss of sensation or blisters, be sure to consult a doctor.
During severe frosts, experts advise refraining from long trips by car, and for those who do find themselves on the road, keep the contacts of emergency medical care points:
