Shipbuilders will pay a penalty for the still undelivered motor ship “Andrey Dubensky” for Krasnoyarsk

A shipyard from St. Petersburg will pay a large penalty for late delivery of the vessel Andrey Dubensky»intended for transfer to Krasnoyarsk. This is reported Vedomosti» with reference to the Moscow Arbitration Court.

The claim was filed by the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) against the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant (SNSZ). In April 2020, an agreement was concluded between them for the construction of two passenger ships for use on the Yenisei. Total contract price 5.27 billion rubles, the plant received an advance of 90% of this amount 4.74 billion rubles. The parties agreed not to consider the introduction of international sanctions V in relation to the defendant and its suppliers by force majeure circumstances, which exempt from liability for failure to fulfill obligations.

Build the first motor ship Victor Astafiev» started in 2020, and the second Andrey Dubensky» laid down in 2021. Change Astafieva» was scheduled for the summer of 2023, but Alexander Uss, who at that time was the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, promised that both ships would arrive in Krasnoyarsk at the same time – in the summer of 2024.

In the end Viktor Astafiev» launched only in the summer of 2024. Governor Mikhail Kotyukov promised that in the navigation year 2025 the ship will begin operating on the Yenisei. But his arrival in Krasnoyarsk was postponed again, tentatively to 2026.

Second motor ship Andrey Dubensky» was supposed to be handed over to the customer at the end of 2023, but so far information about its launch has not been published. STLC filed a lawsuit demanding payment of the penalty. It amounted to more than 186 million rubles. The Moscow Arbitration Court satisfied this claim.
