A 54-year-old man lost his life, on Tuesday, in the Golești commune of Focșani, after being trapped under a bank of earth during some sewage works.

The Focșani Fire Brigade intervened urgently with a water and foam extinguishing vehicle, the SMURD module, the multi-risk vehicle and a bulldozer.
The victim was found unconscious and extracted by the intervention crews, being immediately handed over to the Vrancea County Ambulance Service for resuscitation maneuvers.
Despite the efforts of the doctors, the man could not be saved, and the SAJ crew declared him dead at the scene.
According to the first information sent by the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Vrancea, the embankment collapsed while sewerage works were being carried out. The authorities are yet to establish the exact circumstances.
