Romania has hired a Lobby company in the US to return to the Visa Waiver program. How much will you pay for consulting

The Romanian state has concluded, through the Romanian Embassy in the US, a lobby agreement with Global Security and Innovative Strategies LLC (GSIS), an American specialized consulting company in security and public safety. The company provided the assistance to Qatar in the successful approach of the country in the Middle East to be admitted by the Washington authorities in the Visa Waiver program.

″ GSIS will provide consulting services to Romania in terms of international cooperation and collaboration between Romania and the United States in issues of bilateral interest for the two countries. A special emphasis will be placed on the mutual requirements of public safety, security and cooperation in issues related to trade and travel ”is shown in understanding, seen by Profit.ro.
The expression is identical to that of the similar contract signed a few years ago by GSIS with Qatar, which was admitted to Visa Waiver in September 2024. For the services provided, GSIS perceives to Romania a fee of $ 25,000 per month. The agreement is valid until October 31, 2025 and bears the signatures of Romania's ambassador to Washington, Andrei Muraru, and the main partner of GSIS, one of the company co-founders, Noah Kroloff, announces News.
Kroloff was for over 4 years, between 2009-2013, Chief of Staff at the US Department of Homeland Security – DHS) of the Washington Administration, the institution that initiates the decisions to admit the foreign countries in the Visa Waiver program.
On March 25, 2025, DHS announced that the United States government suspends unlimited Romania's inclusion in the Visa Waiver program, to ensure “Compliance with strict security requirements ″ imposed by the program.
Until March 31, the US authorities should have implemented the electronic travel authorization system (ESTA), whereby Romanians could travel without visas to the United States.
Romania was excluded from the US visa exemption program due to the cancellation of the presidential elections that should have taken place on December 8, an internal document of the Trump Administration shows.
