Siberian Federal University presented scientific developments at the anniversary Congress of young scientists / Society news of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.Ru


On November 26-28, representatives of the Siberian Federal University took part in the anniversary V Congress of Young Scientists in the Sirius space (Krasnodar Territory), held as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.

According to the organizers, the congress has become the largest in five years – the number of participants and events has tripled, and the number of participating countries has quadrupled.

At the Congress, advanced engineering developments in the fields of medicine, energy, space exploration, robotics, etc. were presented. More than 500 events were held at the Congress venues – business meetings, exhibitions, discussions, lectures, master classes, intellectual games and presentations. In addition to the work program, Congress participants attended more than 40 cultural, sports, scientific and entertainment events.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the V Congress of Young Scientists is a key event of the Decade of Science and Technology.

“Every year the Congress of Young Scientists is gaining momentum, demonstrating more and more impressive results, confirming the motto “The Energy of Science: from the potential of knowledge to the creation of the future.” The task set by the president is to ensure Russia’s technological leadership so that it is undeniable. This year the congress brought together participants from more than 100 countries,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

In 2025, the Congress was supported by more than 20 leading scientific and technological companies in Russia, the number of business partners increased by 25%, and the number of satellite events has grown to 6 over five years.

Young SFU scientists presented at the university stand their developments in the field of new materials for metallurgy, new phosphors, and environmental biotesting systems. Particular attention was paid to technologies for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities and virtual technologies for educational purposes.

The SensoRehab hardware and software complex, developed by students and graduate students of the Institute of Space and Information Technologies in cooperation with the Sensomed company, was presented to improve the quality of rehabilitation of patients with neurological and orthopedic diseases (stroke, cerebral palsy, injuries), as well as a VR sledge hockey simulator created by scientists from the Digital Humanities laboratory of the Siberian Federal University Humanities Institute and the public organization Open Hearts.

Researchers from the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals have demonstrated the technology of ultrasonic processing of aluminum alloys for critical applications. Siberian Federal University scientists also introduced the guests of the Congress to a virtual planetarium, with the help of which schoolchildren, starting from elementary grades, will be able to master the basics of astronomy and astrophysics in an interactive and exciting way.

“The Congress of Young Scientists is not just a platform for presenting research results. This is a place for scientific cooperation, where ideas for interdisciplinary projects are born that will determine the future of Russian science. Our university is represented by developments in the field of biotechnology, IT, radio electronics and metallurgy. The results of research by the university’s research teams are presented by developments and technologies with a “Siberian character” – flexible, reliable, efficient, designed to work in the most difficult conditions. Here, in Sirius, our fundamental ideas find their interests, and the ideas of our graduate students receive full support. The Congress of Young Scientists is a living, working ecosystem of science, for the development of which we have gathered here,” said Denis Kapulin, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Siberian Federal University.

Following the meetingDeputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko gave a number of instructions, including the Russian Ministry of Education and Science – to collect applications for holding events – satellites of the CMU in 2026 – by March 1.
