Pro-Palestinian protests in the UK. Almost 100 people were detained


Participants in Saturday's rallies protested against “government complicity [Wielkiej Brytanii] in genocide” and against the banning of Palestine Action – an organization established in 2020, whose activities were banned and recognized as terrorist in July 2025.

According to the police, 31 people were detained in Bristol and 34 in Manchester of about 200 participating in the demonstration. 25 participants were captured in Birmingham gatherings in the city center.
“We fully recognize people's right to demonstrate peacefully and many people are protesting in defense of Palestine without breaking the law,” said Birmingham Police Inspector James Littlehales. The arrests were made under the Combating Terrorism Act 2000.
In London, up to 100,000 people took to the streets
About 100,000 people took part in the pro-Palestinian demonstration in London, said the organizer, the Palestine Coalition. Five participants were detained on charges of participating in riots and violating the Public Order Act.
Saturday's demonstrations are a protest against the war in the Gaza Strip. Israeli troops entered the Palestinian semi-enclave in response to the unprecedented attack by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas on October 7, 2023. From October 10 this year there is a truce in the conflict.
