Many prices in Europe depend on the current exchange rate of the euro. What does it look like today at 7 a.m.? The current (as of December 24, 2025) EUR/PLN exchange rate is PLN 4.2311.
Compared to the previous periods, the following changes occurred: on a daily basis, the exchange rate changed by PLN +0.0084, and on a weekly basis by PLN +0.0084.
The euro currency is the official means of payment in 20 of the total 27 European Union member states. Countries that use the euro form the so-called eurozone. Monetary policy regarding the common currency is conducted by the European Central Bank. The euro as a currency appeared only on January 1, 1999 and initially it was an “invisible” currency, used, for example, for interbank and virtual transactions. It appeared in physical circulation only three years after its introduction. The exchange of national currencies into euro took place in 12 member states that were part of the European Union at that time.
Since 2002, the euro zone has expanded seven times to include additional countries and currently 20 out of 27 member states use the common currency (euro). When joining the European Union, Poland, like every other country, committed to adopting the common currency, but there is no specific date for changing the zloty to the euro. The exchange rate for Polish zlotys into the European currency should be announced half a year before the introduction of the euro. A unified monetary system in the European Union countries brings a number of amenities, such as easier travel.
Due to the lack of the need to exchange money into the currency valid in a given country and to convert money spent abroad “into our money”. The introduction of the euro may also have a significant impact on the revival of international contacts through a better reputation of the country on the international arena, easier trade between countries and an increase in foreign investments.
