An ex-postwoman in the Krasnoyarsk Territory received 120 hours of compulsory work for embezzling pensioners' money

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a court found guilty an ex-postwoman who appropriated pensions to herself.

According to the regional prosecutor’s office, in April 2024, residents of the village of Lebyazhye, Krasnoturansky district, did not receive their pensions and contacted the supervisory agency’s hotline.

It was established that on that day the postman received over 82 thousand rubles from the collection service to pay pensions to local residents. However, she did not agree to the meeting and, instead of conscientiously performing her duties, she appropriated the funds for herself, spending them on personal needs. She told her boss that she gave the money for its intended purpose, but allegedly lost the supporting documents,” – explained the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

A criminal case was opened on this fact Part 1 Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (appropriation of someone else's property). The woman admitted that she stole the money because of her old debts. She wrote a receipt and promised to pay the debt from her salary, During the investigation, the victims were compensated for damages.

At the court hearing, the defendant admitted guilt, but not repentantlassed. The court appointed to her punishment in the form of 120 hours compulsory work.
