Specialists from the Krasnoyarsk branch of the CSC AIC discovered 15 batches of caviar that did not meet safety requirements. Since the beginning of the year, the laboratory has conducted 174 studies of samples of salmon, sturgeon and herring caviar.
Unsafe products were found to exceed standards for microorganisms, the presence of E. coli bacteria, mold and yeast. Information about violations was sent to Rosselkhoznadzor for action.
Experts explained that such violations usually occur due to non-compliance with sanitary standards in production, violation of temperature conditions for storage and transportation.
Consumers are advised to buy caviar only in trusted stores, where they can provide documents on the quality of the products, and to avoid purchases in places of unauthorized trade. Poisoning from fish products is one of the most serious.
