From January 1, 2026, in Russian passports, at the request of the owner, it will be possible to put a new mark – the entry number from the Unified Federal Information Register (ID URN). According to the authors of the initiative, this will simplify and speed up the receipt of government services.

As Gorod Prima writes, this number will become a personal key in government information systems. With its help, it will be possible to confirm identity when applying for benefits, registering real estate, cars and other services, which will save time on collecting documents.
Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Kaplan Panesh explained that the ID URN will replace the previously used individual tax number (TIN).
The mark can be placed voluntarily in the departments of the Main Department of Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or in multifunctional centers (MFC).
