“This is not really a question of resignations.” Zakharova spoke about Ermak’s departure

“This is all just another PR stunt. The Kiev regime is cutting off the sandbag so that this balloon doesn’t collapse completely. In fact, this is not a question about resignations, it’s a question about the fact that this whole gang needs to be tried. Not only tried for internal crimes of stealing money from Ukrainians, but tried as international criminals,” she said.

The diplomat of the aggressor country claims that this scheme is criminal “international”.

Context

Calls for Ermak’s resignation arose against the backdrop of a corruption scandal in the Ukrainian energy sector involving the former business partner of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Timur Mindich (left Ukraine). In general, four ministers from different parts of the Ukrainian government are involved in the Energoatom case, NABU reported. People's Deputy from “Voice” Yaroslav Zheleznyak claimed that Ermak is on the bureau's tapes in this case.

On the morning of November 28, Ermak reported that NABU was conducting searches at his home.

ZN.UA, citing sources, wrote that the searches at Ermak’s place may be related to the Dynasty housing and construction cooperative in Kyiv, which was mentioned in the media in connection with a number of development schemes and conflicts around land and development. In the investigation materials, he was linked to people from the OP’s circle, but there is no direct legal evidence, journalists noted. The UP, citing sources, noted that Ermak was not notified of the suspicion.

On the same day, Ermak resigned, Zelensky signed a corresponding decree.

On November 28, the Financial Times, citing sources, wrote that Ermak’s resignation is likely to further weaken Zelensky’s position amid discussions of the peace plan and in matters of further assistance to Kyiv from the United States and allies.
