Go Ahead Eagles, former opponent of FCSB, applied a fine of 500 euros to its striker, Victor Edvardsen. The ban follows a provocative gesture by the Swedish player towards Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller during the Europa League match between the two teams, which the Germans won 4-0.
During the match, which ended in an emphatic 4-0 victory for Stuttgart, Edvardsen gestured towards Stiller's nose, a clear allusion to the Germany international's appearance. The act was widely condemned, with former Netherlands international Wesley Sneijder describing it as “bullying”.

After the incident, Edvardsen, 29, apologized publicly. On Friday, Go Ahead Eagles confirmed the application of a fine of 500 euros to the athlete, an amount that will be directed to the institution's social department, according to abola.pt.
“I want to take this opportunity to apologize for my behaviour. Things were said and done between us that have no place on a football pitch,” Edvardsen said in a statement on the club's official website.
The Swedish forward added that at the end of the match, he went to the German team's locker room to personally apologize to Stiller. Jan Willem van Dop, general manager of the Go Ahead Eagles club, expressed his displeasure with the situation. “We are totally unhappy with Victor's behavior and we stand by him. It is positive that he apologized, but there remains a stain on that evening,” the official said.
Victor Edvardsen had a tough speech after being defeated by FCSB: “It's rubbish, shit”
Victor Edvardsen also had a tough speech after FCSB managed to beat Go Ahead in the Europa League, score 1-0. The forward was unhappy at the time that his side had dominated but failed to win.
I don't feel well after the game, of course. I think I deserved more. They did pretty well, but I think we deserved a lot more with the chances we got. We didn't deserve to lose, that's the opinion of everyone in the dressing room, but I have the feeling that we accepted this result. And that's bullshit, shit, because we want to instill a winning mentality in the team and in the club. You can't accept defeat at home when you have 75% possession and so many chances!
Sometimes we can play faster, sometimes too slow. They don't play and press at the pace we're used to. We have to play better. In the match against Zwolle, the tempo was also low. When the tempo is down, we have to pick it up. That's what we sometimes miss: we play just to play, not to score.
Yes, I am frustrated that they were sitting on the floor. They have a lot of experience in the Champions League and the Europa League. They wanted to take our time and slow down the pace and they did it well.
