How drivers can easily see their history of fines and penalty points. They can also ask for their driving record there

Driving license holders can consult their history of traffic penalties and check the penalty points accumulated, directly, from their personal account, 24 hours a day, on the MAI Hub digital platform – https://hub.mai.gov.ro/, which offers direct, fast and secure access to essential administrative information, reminds the Ministry of the Interior, informs Agerpres.

“This service solves a concrete need of the citizen: simple access to their own road situation. At the same time, it reduces the pressure on the counters, shortens the time to obtain information and transforms the relationship between the citizen and the administration into a faster, more transparent and more efficient one,” the MAI said on its website.

To date, the MAI Hub platform has recorded over 51.6 million hits, of which 226,269 were for the request for the traffic record.

According to the road legislation, penalty points are applied for traffic violations. The accumulation of 15 penalty points in the last six months attracts the suspension of exercising the right to drive for 30 days.

To check penalty points, users must access the MAI Hub platform, log in with their personal account, enter the “Drivers and vehicles” section, select “Traffic penalty history” and submit the request online.

“Consult the information regarding the driver's license and accumulated points. The history of traffic sanctions reflects the active violations of the traffic regime on public roads, found in the records of driver's licenses withheld and of the sanctions applied to drivers, under the conditions provided by OMAI No. 141/2014”, the quoted source says.
