The crows fly away and the tits fly in – and all because of this: I just pour it in November, and the feeder works as it should all winter

When you hang your first feeder in November, you want tits, bullfinches, maybe even a woodpecker to fly to it. But after a few days, crows and jackdaws flock to her. They make noise, scare small birds and eat all the food in a couple of minutes. And those who are dear to you never appear.

You can, of course, remove the feeder or install nets. But there is a simpler and smarter way: just change the food. All you need is sunflower seeds in the shell and a little unsalted fat without spices.

Place seeds in an open feeder or hang a net containing seeds on a branch. Cut the fat into small pieces and also hang it on a thread or in a net. Don't add anything else. Especially do not add bread, cereals or salty foods.

Crows and pigeons are too lazy to crack the shells; they are looking for an easy meal. And tits and nuthatches happily eat the seeds all day long. Fat gives them strength to survive the cold. Small birds can also hang upside down on branches, but crows cannot. Therefore, they simply cannot get to such food. Start in November, while the birds are looking for reliable winter sites.

Do not feed bread: it swells in the crop and can kill the bird.

You will see the results in just a week: flocks of tits fly to your feeder, nuthatches knock on the branches, and crows avoid your area. And the main thing is that you give help to those who really need it.
