A truck loaded with nitrolime caught fire on Thursday morning, near the Fetești toll station, Ialomița county. No casualties were recorded, but road traffic is blocked on the A2, the direction of travel towards Bucharest, announces the Infotraffic Center of the Romanian Police.
According to local media, the truck is loaded with 24 tons of fertilizer.
“Traffic is stopped on the A2 Bucharest-Constanța highway, on the direction to the Capital, kilometer 145, near the Fetești toll station, Ialomița county, after a fire broke out at the level of a road unit transporting nitrolime, which was on the move,” the Infotraffic Center announces.
No victims were recorded, but road traffic is blocked in the direction of Bucharest, being diverted to the Cernavodă junction, connecting with DJ 223 towards Hârșova.
“It is estimated that road traffic will resume under normal conditions after 11:00 a.m.,” the police say.
