CNN sources reported that two US National Guard members exchanged fire with the suspect and were wounded. According to media interlocutors, the suspected shooter was detained and taken away on a stretcher.

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey later reported on Facebook that both state Guardsmen who were shot in Washington have died.
