Invited to Digi 24 on Thursday evening, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said that the proposals for the ministers belong to the parties, and the Defense portfolio belongs to the USR, after articles appeared in the press regarding problems and inadvertences in the case of the CV of Minister Ionuț Moșteanu. Bolojan said that he is a supporter of stability in the post, but admitted that the decision to continue in the post remains with Ionuț Moșteanu.
“Government ministers are proposals of the political parties in the government arch, so Mr. Moșteanu is also such a proposal (…) I tried not to work with CVs, with diplomas, but I tried to work with the ministers so that together we do the maximum possible under the given conditions”, said Ilie Bolojan when he was invited to comment on the controversy related to the Defense Minister's CV.
Bolojan stated that he had a good collaboration with Ionuș Moșteanu, but admitted that the inadvertences are “aspects that really are not likely to put him in a favorable situation”.
The Head of the Government said that he received a message from Moșteanu, who is now in Sarajevo, where he met with the Romanian military in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and that it is the minister's job to clarify the issues
Asked if the minister's resignation is required, Ilie Bolojan said: “It's a decision he makes. I told him: 'keep your head up, try to do an analysis.' I tried to encourage my colleagues, to be a factor of cohesion.”
The Prime Minister said that he is a supporter of the stability of ministers in office so that they can complete large-scale projects.
“One problem we have is stability in positions. If we did something wrong, it was the too high frequency of replacing ministers,” said Bolojan.
