Interview “could turn the meal”. The businessman who came out of gold believes that the governing program “is a bit of my taste”, but explains why he votes George Simion

Entrepreneur Octavian Bădescu, who founded Sameday Courier: I do not think that gold or Simion, if they hold power, would do worse than the current governors do.

Octavian Bădescu, the founder of Sameday Courier, who in April this year left the Gold party to spend more time on business, explains in an interview with Hotnews why he will vote for George Simion.

Octavian Bădescu entered gold in the autumn of 2021, and left the political formation in the spring of this year, to spend more time on other business projects.

HotNews.ro: Mr. Bădescu, what business do you currently have? Are you still a member of any party?
Octavian Bădescu: Currently I am an investor and consultant in real estate, an independent financial, I focus on the Freedom Group projects and the minutes (which is a social project), I participate in television shows, I write, I have a youtube channel and I am no longer a member of any party.

–Have you been a member of gold, party from which you left in April 2025. Are you currently supporter of gold?
–I sought to help the party in the plan of economic policies and in the plan of public communication. In round 2 I will vote for George Simion because, unlike Nicușor Dan and the parties that support him, I was on the same side of the barricade during the sad period of the persecution of 2020-2022.

And after the elections I will support gold insofar as the party's economic vision, monetary, fiscal and regulatory policies will be close to what I have for years.

“Less reforming than I proposed”

To the extent that I will be requested, I will probably help, I do not need to be a party member for it, but I doubt that this will happen.

-You are entrepreneur who built brands. What do you think about The economic program presented last year by gold?

–It is perfectable, I personally see him a bit ethical for my taste. I was asked to contribute and I had contributions, but the party preferred a less classic liberal and less reforming approach than I proposed. But there are certain inclinations to a form of economic patriotism, so the line is similar, the objectives. Regarding the way of reaching the goals, but there are differences, no doubt.

-Do you know that the concern of the economic environment, seen in the communications of various employers' organizations, is exaggerated?
–It's exaggerated, yes. There are very powerful manipulative forces, probably directly interested, from the political and corporate environment, which want a result of the elections to Simion. I want a quo status, worry -free.

However, the disastrous economic policy for a majority has been manifested for years, intensified in the last 5 years, and inflation is only one example.

With a change we can even hope for a trajectory change, but I am not very optimistic. I don't think gold or Simion, if they hold power, they would do worse than the current governors do.

-What dissatisfaction did you have as an entrepreneur and what expectations did you have from gold when you entered this party? But now?
–I entered to support a possible political voice of individual and economic freedom. Only the future will prove if this desire will be realized, I still hope that yes, with or without me, I have never been a factor of decision or of great influence in the party, honestly speaking.

“Moving the fiscal burden from resource generators to their consumers”

-What measures should be taken by a possible gold government for the benefit of the private environment and for economy in general?
–In short – significant adjustments of monetary, fiscal and regulatory policy. Stopping impoverishment by inflation, moving the fiscal burden, supporting common costs of society, from resources generators, to their consumers, increasing the competition by disorder and decentralization.

-Oor government would come up to adopt a tax reform. What do you think of the prospect of new taxes and taxes?
–I have always supported a movement of taxation from the area of ​​natural persons in the area of ​​taxation and consumption of gross natural resources, we have supported the diminution of public expenses, the monetary and fiscal discipline. As much as the state's income increases, the expenses increase more and faster, history demonstrates it. Unfortunately, the road we are on leads us to easements, to quote Hayek.

-Do you have fears as an entrepreneur from the arrival of a golden government?
–I have no fears, on the contrary, it would not be bad, they are the only ones who, theoretically, could “turn the meal”.
