In the opinion of Robert Biegaj from Shopfully Poland, the results clearly show that Poles are increasingly aware customers who are increasingly difficult to deceive with price manipulations.
Poles are cautious on Black Friday
“Polish customers do not fall for marketing tricks and promotional traps. The results should not be surprising, because the media has been talking about so-called fake promotions for several years now,” the expert said.
He also noted that more and more frequent reports of such marketing abuses may lead to a decline in interest in Black Friday. “Some customers may refrain from shopping on that day, others will only take advantage of promotions offered by stores with a reliable pricing policy. This is a serious warning signal for the retail industry,” said Robert Biegaj.
Black Friday. Are promotions really profitable?
The authors of the report pointed out that only 4.6 percent respondents indicated that they did not notice the phenomenon of false promotions. According to experts, this is a group of consumers who do not monitor the market on an ongoing basis.
The data presented in the report also shows that 84 percent buyers always check whether a given promotion is real and profitable.
“Customers increasingly use price comparison websites, mobile applications and become familiar with the history of price changes. For trade, this means the need for reliable communication. The use of false promotions is a short-sighted policy that leads to loss of trust in the store or brand,” the report said.
The percentage of respondents who indicated that they had never verified price changes was 14%, and 2%. respondents did not remember whether they had done it.
