This recipe is especially suitable for those who are tired of the usual vinaigrette and want to diversify the New Year's table. This one is prepared from simple and affordable ingredients. It turns out so delicious that guests squeal with pleasure and beg for the recipe. Ideal for a holiday or every day, and everyone will forget about the vinaigrette.
To prepare beet salad you will need:
- beets – 500 grams;
- smoked mackerel or herring – 1 pc.;
- potatoes – 300 grams;
- onion – 1 pc.;
- sugar – 1 teaspoon;
- vinegar 9% – 1 tablespoon;
- cheese – 50 grams;
- salt – 1/3 teaspoon;
- milk – 50 milliliters;
- vegetable oil – 100 milliliters;
- mustard – 1/2 teaspoon;
- lemon juice – 1 tablespoon.
Step by step recipe:
First you need to boil the beets and potatoes until tender. Meanwhile, fillet the fish, remove the skin, remove the bones and cut into cubes. For convenience, you can use ready-made fillets.
Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Chop the onion, pour into a bowl, add sugar, vinegar 9% and leave for 15 minutes. Peel the boiled beets and potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater.
Afterwards, you need to prepare the dressing: pour milk at room temperature into a blender bowl, add vegetable oil and blend everything with a blender until thickened for 30 minutes. Add salt, mustard and lemon juice. Mix.
Now you can start assembling the salad, it is better to use a culinary ring: the first layer should be half of the beets, greased with mayonnaise, the second layer is potatoes, which also need to be greased with mayonnaise, the third layer is pickled onions with mayonnaise, the fourth layer is fish, greased with mayonnaise, the fifth layer is cheese, greased with mayonnaise, the sixth layer is the remaining half of the beets. You should apply a mayonnaise mesh on it and sprinkle with herbs if desired. Place the salad in the refrigerator to soak, and then serve.
