The Russian IT product development company Neiry showed the first PJN-1 biodrone pigeons. As Izvestia writes, this was reported on the company’s website.

“The Neiry group of companies presents biodrone pigeons with neural interfaces implanted in their brains. Currently, a team of scientists and developers is testing their flight characteristics,” says the published press release.

It is noted that the biodron is a living bird with a chip implanted in its brain. The operator of such a biodrone can control the bird, loading it with a flight mission based on the operating principle of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The dove-biodron is designed for environmental and industrial monitoring and use in search and rescue operations, the company specified.

Along with this, the founder of Neiry, Alexander Panov, stated that any bird could be the carrier of the chip. The company hopes to embed neurochips in the heads of crows, seagulls and albatrosses in the future.
