Megafon is recognized as a leader in the market of private LTE networks in Russia

26 November 16:23

MegaFon confirmed its leadership in the private networks segment, taking first place in ComNews’ annual industry analytical study “Corporate Private LTE/5G networks in Russia and Kazakhstan.”

Previously, the operator was recognized as the record holder for the number of commercial launches of such projects in 2025, according to a review from the IAA Rustele.Com agency.

The map of corporate networks is updated by ComNews annually and has already become a reliable source of analytics in the market. Its regular publication allows you to track trends, changes in the volumes of market participants’ portfolios and the technological maturity of solutions.

In addition, experts evaluate completed projects from the point of view of the geography of implementation and the customer’s industry.

In this year's study, MegaFon occupies a leading position in the market – the operator's portfolio includes 46 commercially implemented projects, which amounts to more than 45% of all commercial networks in the country. It is noteworthy that seven pLTE were built by the operator this year, which also became a record and amounted to half of the total number of launches in Russia during this period (according to IAA Rustele.Com).

The rapid growth of the market for private LTE solutions is a natural response to the growing business need for reliable communications in a complex industrial environment. Enterprises need guaranteed bandwidth to transmit sensor data, video streams, and control signals.

Equally important is the ability to isolate the network from the public Internet to protect critical data and processes. In addition, the demand for integration with IIoT solutions is growing.

An important competitive advantage of pLTE implemented by MegaFon is leadership in the field of cyber protection. The operator has developed, tested and certified an integrated security system (crypto gateways, firewalls, intrusion detection systems), which has already been implemented in the built networks at critical energy facilities. The solution fully complies with the requirements of Federal Law-187 for class KII-1, which eliminates the need for additional certification.

“Private networks are becoming a critical element of enterprise digital infrastructure. Our portfolio of almost fifty built pLTE is not just a number, but a confirmation of the trust of the largest market players. Many of these projects have a long decision-making cycle: the development of technical aspects, integration with existing systems, and approval of security requirements are required. That is why leadership in the number of implemented commercial projects this year is especially valuable – it shows that the accumulated expertise and systematic approach allow us to successfully overcome difficulties and bring the infrastructure to the stage of real operation,” comments Semyon Zakharov, director of the department for implementation of corporate business projects at MegaFon.
