Krasnoyarsk residents were explained how to walk correctly and fall in ice

November 26 13:00

Rospotrebnadzor reminded Krasnoyarsk residents about safety rules during icy conditions.

First of all, you need to choose the right shoes. Forget about high heels, to protect yourself from falling, take shoes or boots with grooved, non-slip soles. Follow the correct walking technique: look at your feet, lean forward slightly, keep your knees slightly bent and your arms free, move in short steps. Elderly people are advised to carry a cane with a rubber tip.

Choose your route wisely. It is better to spend extra minutes walking along a cleared, safe road than to take risks on an icy area.

If falling is inevitable, fall correctly. Try to squat to reduce the height of the fall, to avoid injury to the head and back – group yourself and press your head to your chest. If you fall on your side, tuck your arm under you to reduce the risk of breaking your arm and fall softer

After a fall, do not rush to get up, first make sure that you do not have any injuries. If there is severe pain, do not move and call an ambulance.

We would like to remind you that earlier Rospotrebnadzor told residents of the regional capital how to receive compensation for an injury caused by a fall in ice. If the injury occurred in the local area, then the management company is responsible if the building owner or tenant is on the steps of a store or institution, and the municipality is responsible if the incident occurred on the street, bus stop or other public places.

Once the culprit has been identified, the victim can file a claim against him.
