Zelensky after a conversation with an important coalition partner. “Stop the bloodshed”

“It was a good and very fruitful conversation. I thanked the Prime Minister for his condolences to the Ukrainian people. Yesterday evening there was another Russian attack – at a time when Ukraine, together with America, Europe and many other countries of the world, is working tirelessly to stop the bloodshed,” wrote the president of Ukraine on X. Zelensky after his conversation with Starmer. “Good and very fruitful”
On Tuesday, the British Prime Minister is to hold a video conference with Ukraine's European allies, the so-called coalition of the willing. The talks are to be a continuation of the weekend efforts of the US and Kiev to reach a ceasefire with Russia.
Starmer and other Western leaders criticized President Donald Trump's original 28-point peace proposal, pointing out, among other things, at the risk of limiting the Ukrainian armed forces and the need to cede part of the territory to Russia. After the Geneva talks, Zelensky assessed that the amended version of the plan took into account more of Kiev's expectations and the number of controversial sub-points was limited.
In a message on Telegram on November 24, Zelensky wrote: “we still have work to do together – it is very difficult – to finalize the document, we must do everything with dignity. We appreciate that most of the world is ready to help us and that the American side is approaching it constructively.”
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader announced that he would discuss “sensitive issues” with the US president, assuring that Ukraine “will never be an obstacle to peace” and strives for a “dignified and just end to the war.”
Rustem Umerov, former Minister of Defense and negotiator for the Ukrainian side, wrote on social media on November 25 that he appreciated the actions taken by the American administration. “We appreciate the productive and constructive meetings of the Ukrainian and American delegations that took place in Geneva, as well as President Trump's continued efforts to end the war.“
As reported by The Independent, it is still not certain whether the Ukrainian president will go to Washington this week. According to the newspaper, the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that the progress of negotiations in Geneva means that the Thursday deadline for adopting the plan is no longer rigid.
