Emmanuel Macron on peace between Ukraine and Russia. “Finally there is a chance”


During the meeting, the so-called coalition of the willing, President Emmanuel Macron expressed hope for progress towards a “good peace” between Ukraine and Russia, noting that a key condition is solid security guarantees for Kiev. As AFP reports, Macron emphasized that such guarantees cannot be limited to declarations on paper, but must be real and credible.

The president also announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is participating in the meeting of the coalition of the willing.
New arms supplies from Great Britain to Ukraine
In turn, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that his country will deliver more defense missiles to Ukraine in the coming weeks. According to Reuters, Starmer also pointed to: Great Britain's readiness to provide financial assistance to Ukraine based on frozen Russian assets.
The Prime Minister assessed that such actions are the best way to convince Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate instead of continuing the conflict.

Starmer added that EU teams are working intensively on organizing financing for Ukraine, which is to be the next step in international support for Kiev.
Volodymyr Zelensky at the meeting of the coalition of the willing. Talks about “vulnerable points”
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday, during a video conference of the so-called coalition of the willing that is ready to discuss the “sensitive points” of the peace plan with US President Donald Trump, and European leaders should take part in the conversation.
“Decisions regarding European security must be made with the participation of Europe,” said Zelensky, whose statement was quoted by Reuters based on the text of the president's speech.

Zelensky called European leaders to develop a framework for the program to deploy the so-called reinsurance forces and to continue supporting Kiev “as long as Moscow shows no will to end the war”.
