If your geranium has stopped blooming, the leaves have become small, and the lower part of the stems is bare, do not rush to trim it to a stump or throw it away. Most often, she simply lacks light, freshness and light support from within. With the help of three available means, you can awaken the plant and achieve abundant flowering by the beginning of spring.
Secrets of lush geranium flowering:
1. Wipe the leaves with milk
Dilute 1 tbsp. l. milk in a glass of water and wipe the leaves on both sides with a soft cloth. This will not only remove dust, but also provide light nutrition through the leaves, improve photosynthesis and restore shine.
2. Pour banana peel infusion
Pour 0.5 liters of water over the peel of one ripe banana, leave for 24 hours, strain. Water the geranium once every 10 days. Potassium from the peel stimulates the formation of buds and strengthens the stems.
3. Add wood ash to the soil
Sprinkle ½ tsp. ash around the stem and carefully embed into the top layer of soil. Ash provides potassium and phosphorus, which are responsible for abundant and long flowering.
These methods are especially effective in February–March, when the plant is preparing for the new season. After just 3-4 weeks, you will notice that the new shoots are strong and juicy, the buds are numerous and dense, and the flowering is bright and long-lasting.
