Adrian Iencsi, the Romanian U20 national team coach, believes that Rapid has the potential to dominate the SuperLiga in the coming years.
The former Giulești player is not surprised by the successful performance of the team coached by Constantin Gâlcă, noting the good conditions it benefits from.
“I like the Superliga ranking only because Rapidul is in first place. I would also like the other teams to be as high as possible. I am referring to FCSB, CFR Cluj, Cluj University, which surprised pleasantly in the previous season. We see that there have been surprises. Those from Botoșani, all respect for what Leo Grozavu is doing there. I can't say that I am pleasantly surprised by what is happening in our domestic championship.
Hats off to Rapid. I am very happy that there are very good conditions there, they have a very well trained coach. He is a serious boy, I know him very well. There is financial stability there. There are good working conditions and I foresee a very bright future for Rapid.
I think that if Rapid will manage to win the championship this season, we might see a Rapid that will dominate the Romanian championship in the coming years.
At the beginning of the season I would have said that Rapid would need a central midfielder, a number 10, but now I see a united, strong team. Very often, the group makes the difference. This can be seen and I hope it will continue,” Iencsi said, according to gsp.ro.
After 16 stages, Rapid occupies the first position in the ranking, with 35 points, three more than FC Botoșani, the team in second place. For Gâlcă's team, the match with CFR Cluj follows, on the road, on Sunday, from 20:30.
