“Information is being spread on social networks that certain units are surrounded by the enemy. And also about the alleged presence of barrage detachments blocking our units and not allowing them to retreat. This information is not true and is openly aimed at discrediting the military command,” the press service says.
According to the unit, over the past 24 hours, November 20, 10 military clashes occurred near the settlements of Yablokovo and Rovnopolye.
The military confirmed that the situation in this direction indeed remains difficult, however, communication with the units is maintained, logistics have been established, and the wounded are being evacuated. Units leading battles receive reinforcements from assault groups.
The command is in full control of the situation and is taking all necessary measures to improve the tactical condition of the troops, the defense forces assured.
A November 20 report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) also notes that the situation in this direction remains tense: Russian forces are trying to isolate Gulyai-Polye from the north and are advancing on the city from the northeast and east.
According to ISW geolocation videos, Russian troops have likely captured the village of Veseloye, located east of Gulyai-Polye. Russian propaganda media and the Russian Ministry of Defense attribute this promotion to units of the 114th Motorized Rifle Regiment.
ISW analysts also note that Russian forces in the Gulyai-Polye axis are taking a new tactical approach, combining long-term air operations on the battlefield, interception operations, infiltration missions and massed attacks in small groups.
