The head of Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, said that the company needs at least 2 years to develop a shortened version of the MS-21 aircraft. IrkutskMedia writes about this with reference to RIA Novosti.

“As for the short version, it takes at least two years. Aeroflot would like to buy it, but we'll see. We will work,” Sergei Chemezov told reporters on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow exhibition.

At the same time, the head of Rostec added that currently the customer of the MS-21 fully agrees with the model of the aircraft that already exists.

There is no talk yet about the possibility of creating an extended version of the airliner, but the company does not exclude such a possibility.

Let us remind you that the MS-21 is a medium-range narrow-body aircraft developed by the Yakovlev company (part of the United Aircraft Corporation Rostec), it is now completing certification tests.

The first production cars are planned for production in 2026.
