The State Duma promised not to raise the retirement age anymore

November 20 9:30

No one is raising the retirement age in Russia and no one is going to raise it, said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

The Chairman of the State Duma noted that a number of media outlets took out of context and paraphrased the statements of State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab that the size of the pension can be increased if it is reached 10 years later.

“Nobody is raising it, the retirement age is not going to be raised. It's a conversation, if you will, more about the benefits of continuing to work. But they took it, paraphrased it, now I’m saying, they’ll take something out of context, and then explain yourself,” Volodin said during the plenary session.
