MegaFon showed the best results in terms of mobile Internet speed in Krasnoyarsk

The large-scale refarming program that MegaFon carried out in 2025 made it possible to significantly increase network capacity and provide the highest mobile Internet speeds in Russia.

According to a study by the analytical company Megabitus, the operator became a leader in two key indicators at once: average download speed and upload to the Internet.

From July 1 to December 31, 2025, analysts carried out 18.7 million measurements throughout the country in networks of all generations. MegaFon's download speed was 36.03 Mbit/s, and its upload speed was 11.54 Mbit/s, which is the best result among all Russian mobile operators.

Refarming covered more than 31 thousand third generation (3G) base stations of the operator. The redistribution of frequencies affected all cities with a population of over a million, including airports, bus and railway stations, popular tourist clusters, including ski resorts and beaches. The work also affected federal highways, where communications are especially in demand.

The study confirmed MegaFon's leadership in mobile Internet speed in Krasnoyarsk. The average download speed in the city was 29.21 Mbps. In the region as a whole, the operator also ranks first in Achinsk, Zheleznogorsk and Sosnovoborsk.

“The constant growth of mobile traffic requires us to continuously develop technologically. We are consistently updating infrastructure throughout the country. For example, in Moscow, the completed refarming made it possible to increase the median download speed by 50%, in Nizhny Novgorod Dzerzhinsk – by 25%, in Khabarovsk – by 15%,” noted MegaFon technical director Alexey Titov.

In addition, an increase in quality indicators was made possible by strengthening the transport segment of the network. MegaFon expanded its trunk communication lines, increasing capacity by more than 30%. At the same time, modernization of the core network made it possible to reduce data transmission delays and optimize traffic routing.
