835 new waste containers will appear in Krasnoyarsk

20 November 17:34

The installation of 835 new containers for municipal solid waste (MSW) has begun in Krasnoyarsk.

They were transferred to the ownership of the municipality and management companies by the regional Ministry of Ecology. They were purchased on behalf of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov at the expense of additional funding. The containers will replace worn-out tanks, and they will also be used to complete sites in areas with multi-apartment buildings.

“The tanks were distributed among the city districts. The largest number – 500 units – will be installed in the Leninsky and Sovetsky districts, the rest will be distributed between the Kirovsky, Oktyabrsky, Zheleznodorozhny, Sverdlovsky and Central districts,” the ministry noted.

In total, by the end of 2025, the city will equip 136 sites according to all the rules: they will have a concrete base on which containers and nets for recyclable waste will be installed. The entrances to the sites will be designed so that garbage trucks can easily access them.

In total, in 2025, municipalities of the region received 2,083 containers. Increasing the number of containers and special sites for collecting MSW is part of a large-scale effort to bring order to waste management in municipalities. At the same time, a video monitoring system is being developed in the region.

The events are carried out within the framework of the federal project “Circular Economy” of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”.
