In Krasnoyarsk, the modernization of the airport will continue as part of the national project, the regional government reported.

This issue was discussed at a working meeting, which was held at the International Forum “Transport of Russia” by the Chairman of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Sergei Vereshchagin with the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation) Dmitry Yadrov.

Currently, a major overhaul of the hangar is being completed to house the Center for the maintenance and repair of aircraft operating within the hub’s schedule. The next important stage in the modernization of the airport should be the reconstruction of the runway, the government noted.

The work will be carried out within the framework of the federal project “Development of the support network of airfields” of the national project “Efficient Transport System”. It is expected that the main mechanism will be a concession scheme.

“Based on the results of 10 months of this year, our airport has already served 3.6 million passengers, and the number of takeoff and landing operations is increasing. It is important to plan the expansion of the infrastructure of the region’s main air harbor,” said Sergei Vereshchagin.
