The Norilsk Nickel company, most of whose production facilities are located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, summed up the results of production activities for 2025.
First Vice President – Director of Operations Evgeniy Fedorov said that the production of nickel, copper and palladium was in line with the annual plan, and platinum production was slightly more than expected.
“Compared to last year, the production of all metals except platinum decreased slightly due to a temporary increase in the share of disseminated ores in production with a relatively lower content of useful components. I would also like to note that the renewal of the mining equipment fleet with equipment received from new suppliers continued,” explained Evgeniy Fedorov.
He also spoke about the implementation of strategic operational projects. Thus, in the Polar Division, construction began on a new level of the Glubokaya mine of the Skalisty mine of the Oktyabrsky deposit. The reconstruction of the cobalt workshop at the Kola site made it possible to bring the production of this metal, including electrolytic cobalt of the highest grades, to the planned capacity.

The implementation of a large-scale environmental program also continues.
“The Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant continues to ramp up the Sulfur Program to its design capacity. In the refining shop of the Kola site, a new gas purification system complex was put into commercial operation, which not only allowed to reduce sulfur dioxide emissions, but should provide additional economic results, since non-ferrous metals collected during the dust collection process will be returned for processing,” said Evgeny Fedorov.
In the Trans-Baikal division, construction of a gold recovery plant has begun, which will increase production volumes and speed up gold production. The facility is planned to be put into operation at the end of 2027 – beginning of 2028.
“As part of the strategy to diversify sales markets, the production of premium quality nickel continued to grow, in particular, NORNICKEL PLATING GRADE nickel – by 30% in 2025. An increase in the volume of such products is planned for 2026. In 2026, we expect a slight decrease in the production of platinum group metals due to a change in the ratio of metals in the structure of processed raw materials,” explained the first vice president of Norilsk Nickel.
